So here's what to expect: An update on how hard/easy it has been; push-up numbers (how many in total, how many past week); a fitness tip (maybe); anything else that might be relevant.
Now imagine you're reading the next part two days ago:
This week had a good difficulty balance. I was on column three and was able to finish every day. During the final set of push-ups of each day I struggled a bit, but I wouldn't expect anything else.
Two things surprised me: I did all my push-ups right after waking up at 6:30 AM, meaning my willpower beat my grogginess; plus I didn't get sore at all. The last time I had started this challenge, I was usually sore the day after doing the push-ups, but not this week. Maybe it was because I didn't challenge my muscles enough (though I felt the burn...), or because I did the push-ups in the morning and took a shower right afterwards. My theory is that they were able to recover more during the day than they would have if I had done them at night, since the protein consumption is obviously bigger during the day. If this makes any sense biologically I'm not sure, so don't quote me on that.
Fitness Tip: Take 100% responsibility for your level of fitness and health. As with most if not all areas of self improvement and personal development, the first step is to acknowledge that it's up to you to be who you want to be. Don't get caught up in excuses like "I don't have time," or "I'm just lazy -- that's who I am." You have the power to change and become who you want to be, and if you don't use it, it's not because you can't, it's because you don't want to. Whenever you find yourself rationalizing your way out of a lack of discipline, stop the thoughts and know that you can and will take control of your life.
Numbers:
Push-ups this week: 153
Total push-ups: 153
Program-weeks completed: 1
Total weeks used: 1
I probably should do something like that...
ReplyDeleteThen do! The program adapts to your initial strength and to the strength you build, so there's no reason why you wouldn't try it out. Besides, today is Monday, which means you can start right now!
